WHAT ABOUT MY PRIVACY & SECURITY - ONLINE AND MY HOME & PETS?
All bookings are done via a secure online process.
Any client details like your full name, address and dates of travel are not available to anyone until you decide to go ahead with your booking and an invoice is produced for you and a job sheet for your selected carer. Until you are invoiced and the Job Sheet is sent out - the Carers only have a Job Code/Client Code, your first name and approximate address (Never the full address) - they only know the dates of the service, the type of service being booked and lots of details about the pet, the pets care etc. This process completely protects your privacy.
Keys Security: All clients can be assured that all ‘client keys’ carry a PSA file code on our Key Fobs - and that they will NEVER have your name or address attached – YOUR TOTAL PRIVACY AND SECURITY IS A PRIORITY AT ALL TIMES!
You may not have thought about this before - Pet Sit Aus decided never to have uniforms or signage on ourselves or vehicles.
We decided this from our inception never to advertise our presence to others for a number of reasons - opportunistic criminals can't work out what we are doing, they won't be alerted to our presence - and importantly can't work out you aren't home either!
We can't be easily followed and that is because to us your home and pets security is more important that us advertising our business and what we do...
Also, we do not confirm to anyone what we are doing or why we are at your place for any reason, this is not only to be more secure and private with our clients personal information - it is also designed to ensure no-one will know you have a pet at home. Unless you have told us who have told about us - we don't discuss this with others - our contract for care is with you and your pets, not your landlord, strata management etc. If you want to have a secret "Stealth pet' - then we absolutely honour your decision!

DOG WALKS - HOW DOES PET SIT AUS DO BETTER THAN OTHERS?
We only do small one on one style guided dog care walks. Where your dog get the full attention of the walker for the duration of the walk. (We only do one family st of dogs walked at any one time - this ensures dogs get full, un-distracted carer attention for better behaviour and safer walking practices for your dogs mental, emotional and physical health.
Our dog walking is done with focus, direction and with purpose - to give your dog greater confidence and to learn how to walk better and have a good time without getting over stimulated, as an overstimulated dog doesn't get a calm mind otherwise.
We create a good relationship with the pets in our care - and that relationship giving calm and strong instructional dog walking structure is as valuable to your dog as it is to you!
We do not quickly run in t collect a dog, and run to a van and have your dog among st other hyped up dogs, we don't then take them to a dog park - where things can quickly escalate or get out of control.... those sorts of scenarios are potentially dangerous..
Ask a potential walker if they have any contingency planning for all the dogs in their care if one gets sick, or gets injured or has some other medical emergency - ask then - "What do you do if one or more of the dogs you re with - get into a fight" - what do you do if you have to get one fo the dogs to a vet urgently?
If they don't have a plan BEFORE there is an emergency - then that is a red flag..
You pet deserves to have a safer, more controlled, happy and stimulating, yet calm walk with someone who has the ability to manage what may happen on a walk..
Right?
Our clients always comment on how much calmer and happier and how much less anxious their dogs are when our carers are looking after them !
That is becasue when in our care - your pets are our first priority!

HOW MANY DOGS CAN YOU WALK AT ONCE?
Mostly we do one on one walks - and no more than 4 if they are all from the same pet family group.
These are guided walks - with our full focus on just that walk - and no more than that approved family group. We do not 'walk' large groups by herding them int cars/vans, taking them to a park to run around, and then take them back home - because that doesn't give your dog the one on one type care that helps them thrive and give them teh true care or attention they deserve.

COVID-19 - do you have any protocols that need to be followed?
28/5/2020 - Covid-19 Udate: - We can take bookings & book carers if they are available
we do have protocols to help keep everyone safer so please check out our protocols in this FAQ section:
Covid-19 -Protocols for care and safety to be followed by clients and carers
The safety, care and welfare of our Pet Sit Aus (PSA) carers and clients and pets is paramount and we have the following protocols that can help ensure the safety of all
Existing Clients - when Carer have keys already (often using regularly repeat carers)
When carers already have Client Access Keys (For access for work to be performed) then - engagement for care is simplified as no contact client engagement and handover is simple - clients to clean surfaces to remove possible presence of Covide on surfaces prior to carers arriving - Carers to clean all touched surfaces on their final visit as well (Client please provide appropriate cleaning products for this purpose)
.
Existing Clients and New Clients who need keys collected &/or Orientation & Handover meetings done
Existing Clients with repeat carers - No Keys - When carers don't have Client Access Keys - but has performed work at a known address with pets they know, and the client has given good written instructions - then - we can do con-tactless key arrangements ( i.e Clients can drop off to a Carers nominated drop off point - or pick up from your location - (Key collection fees may apply)
New Clients - where Key Collection &/Or Orientation for place and pets is required - If a care is new to your pets care and home, or there are significant changes or handovers required - then an orientation/key collection process would need to be in place .
Protocols as guided by health authorities will always apply - Including but not limited to - social distancing, hand sanitizer, frequent hand washing, masks and other PPE etc - may need to be engaged - it is probably best that we discuss this closer to the time to clarify based on govt time based requirements.
However - it must be noted that no matter what style of engagement is required, all homes where carers must conduct work and pet care - should be cleaned appropriately to remove all possible Covid-19 surface contamination prior to any pet care services carer attending the client site.

IS ‘IN MY HOME’ PET SITTING RIGHT FOR ME AND MY PET?
We discovered that it was right for our own pets and for many of our customers because of the pet’s deep need to remain in their own familiar environment.
If you are unsure about having your pet sat at in your own home, we are happy to talk through your concerns.
We understand how important it is to know up front what to expect and we are happy to meet you in your home to discuss any concerns you may have, this first visit, is at no cost and no obligation to you.
Like you, we want the best for your pet too and will work with you to achieve our goals.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN PSA’S SERVICE/COST?
Once we meet with you and work out what you want done, we can perform the following tasks during our in home pet sitting times:

* Regular turning on of your car engine * Checking on any of your vehicles left on property/street
* following up on newspaper cancellations or collecting them in your home for you to read upon your return * watering of plants inside/outside (limits based on amount of watering , location of plants, and duties that would be affected by prolonged watering time should be considered - also water restrictions can challenge this process (We recommend Automatic watering systems - or manual system we can turn on when we arrive and turn off when we leave - which leave more time for your pets care)
* feeding of pets
* cleaning up after pets
* cleaning litter trays
* replenishing water bowls *administration of basic medication s when in food (if animal takes medicine easily)

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN PSA’S COSTS/FEES - AND MAY HAVE ADDITIONA AMOUNT APPLIED (NEED TO GET A QUOTE AND AGREED)?
What is not included are things such as:
Your pet’s food - all food for the entire period will need to be available for the carer to carry out the care
Litter and cleaning products ( All consumable items like Litter, litter bags, paper towels or other wipes, dish-washing liquid scourers sponges )
Other items used at home to ensure the comfort of pets.
Any phone calls / text messages requested for updates if cost incurred would be charged at cost.
We can assist you by purchasing additional items whilst you are away and adding the cost to an invoice for payment.
A small key return fee applies where we cannot leave keys securely inside a property or hand them to a designated contact.
We do not generally leave keys in letterboxes. (Unless specifically instructed by clients - this is due to many mailboxes not being as secure enough - and we would never want anyone to steal keys and be able to identify your home because the letterbox shows a thief your address)
We have a secure system of keeping your keys on file so that you can readily engage our services in the future – Also handy if you ever lose your keys and needs a “standby set” (We want you to know that we NEVER leave keys with names &/or addresses together at ANY time).
CAN PSA CARERS GIVE ANY MEDICATION TO MY PET?
Yes, usually we can - but it is always best to check and let us know what is needed as occasionally, if it is a complex application, process and/or the pet doesn't want to comply - we cannot.
So giving medications does depend on a few things.
If the pet can happily eat their medication in their food easily - we can do this quite easily. If administered with food - we don't need to take extra time to work with a pet to take tehir meds - so no extra charges usually apply for this.
Some oral meds, injections, fluids administration and other meds can be more difficult to give - and although we have quite a few Vet Nurses and Nurses in our team - not everyone is able to do more complex meds admin. If it is a complex process, if your pet doesn't want to comply and it takes a lot of added time to get this done - or another carer need to be engaged to admin meds - additional fees might apply.
We do recommend that you call 0405-498-528 and talk to us about this - and to also you provide the pets original medication packaging and if possible a “Dosage case” so that they medication is easily prepared for dosage.
We can also administer flea control products, and also the cleaning of your pet’s ears and eyes during the course of our visits as they are all covered in our costs
ARE MY KEYS SAFE AND WHEN DO I GIVE THEM TO PSA?
Your keys are safe in our custody and will NEVER bear identification as to your address.
We have a code system. We use your Client Code - which identities your keys as yours - usually your initials - a 2 number code and then a dash and your Postcode. We use this unique client code for your jobs with carers and only PSA and our Carers would be able to Identify these keys as your. The Key Fob we attach to your keys has that Unique Client Code adn our contact details so that if they were ever misplaced - PSA head office would get a call to let us know!
Based on your instructions, keys can be left inside your home on the last visit or returned at a specified time after you arrive home, or you may wish us to keep these on file for future visits.
We always prefer to collect keys at the time of an initial interview, but do understand this may not always be convenient.
(Note: extra visits that are required for Key Drop Off or Key Collections are chargeable fee to pay for the carers time to do this task)
WHAT INFORMATION DOES PSA NEED?
During our initial call we discuss needs, location etc in basic terms, we then need to have you complete an online form to give us comprehensive information and instructions - which gives us all of the details we will need to perform the work.
Your Name & Address, your mobile and your email address, Your location, The dates of pet care, the type of service you wish to use, and a summary of each of your pets including what kind of things they do, eat and like and don't like - so that we do the best possible job.
We also ask for your vets details and if you have a nominated Emergency contact and a few other planing details - and so that we can have appropriate plans in place for all sorts of contingencies - we like to be fully prepared for anything!
So in that comprehensive online form, about your pet and your home security needs we do cover off all pet requirements, your Vet and potential Vet needs, security issues and find out about any additional tasks you wish to have performed.
After all - the more we know - the better we can do!
WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?
Simply call us to cancel.
Usually if you give us enough time to cancel before our paperwork like Invoicing and Job sheets is done and no work like an orientation/meeting / key collection etc has occurred - we can cancel easily (Of note if work has already been performed fees for those tasks/work will apply)
For example - If we have conducted an initial interview/orientation meeting/key collection with you, then a cancellation fee applies. We refund the balance (your deposit less the cancellation fee) to you promptly.
If you reschedule within the following 30 calendar days, then the cancellation fee is deducted from your next booking (only for one change of plans though)
For longstanding regular clients - we rarely charge any cancellation fees!
However - it should be noted that :
If you cancel and all paperwork is completed and the carer has been engaged and it is short notice (Less than a week out) cancellation fees may apply.
If you cancel for any reason and it is less than 72 hours out from the booking starting -- cancellation fees will apply. This may be the entire service fee - the full amount - as the carer will not have been able to take other bookings for the time the carer had committed to - and pre-allocated for your pet care. This means that they will otherwise miss out on income that they had anticipated at that time - with no chance of getting a late booking - due to lack of time to cover off many logistical elements required to engage with clients for a booking. This is a common practice for businesses for Late Cancellation fees where full deposit &/or Full Fees will be charged due to loss of income from a cancellation. (this is not always applied - and caveats may apply at the discretion of PetSitAus - Management )
Most clients understand this and know we can discuss terms.
WHAT ABOUT MY PRIVACY, CONFIDENTIALITY AND LEGAL ISSUES?
We have a contract which covers insurance, security, veterinary and access matters relating to your needs.
Your completed online form booking a service is part of your contract for care and service.
You can rest assured - we DO NOT disclose the nature of our work to anyone outside of PSA.
Also, unlike other pet care service companies, we do not wear uniforms of any kind. We have no signage on vehicles used whilst performing our pet care duties - at all - ever - we believe this is a security issue and a breach of privacy and security for you, your home and your pets!
The reason we will never do this sort of advertising at all, is because we are aware that a pet care service - that you would mostly use when you are away - and your house and pets could be perceived as alone and more vulnerable - is because we we do not want to alert ANYONE about what we are doing for you whilst you are away from home.
That way no thieves, nosy neighbours, strata managers, landlords etc will even know you are away - or that you may have pets!
Not every client wants people to know they are away or that they have pets and we will NEVER confirm that to anyone in any way!
Your home, your pets, your movements are your business - and we keep that very private and to ourselves.
Stealth Pets
We know some clients have secret 'Stealth Pets" and we will make sure that this private information stays exactly that - private! - Your personal private business remains safe and secure with us and our team!
WHEN AND HOW DO I PAY?
After your initial - first client meeting/orientation/key collection and you are happy with your carer - we ask for a 50% holding fee. (Carers do not take payments at all - all transactions are to be made via to Pet Sit Aus management - and as per our invoiced & emailed payment requests please )
The balance (50%) Is payable 2 weeks PRIOR to the service commencing (i.e. Start Date)
We accept Direct Deposit
